Compact Power for Tight Spaces

The ASV RT-40 is built for users who need more performance than a walk-behind or stand-on loader while still requiring a compact footprint. Its narrow 48.3-inch width allows it to work in areas where larger loaders may not fit, while its 38.2 hp Yanmar diesel engine, 931 lb rated operating capacity, and 2,660 lb tipping load provide the power and capability needed for productive jobsite work.

Power and Performance

The RT-40 is powered by a turbocharged Yanmar 3-cylinder diesel engine with 1.6 L displacement and 93.6 ft-lb of peak torque. Combined with ASV’s Posi-Power system, the machine is designed to deliver strong tractive effort for pushing, digging, loading, and moving material. With a maximum travel speed of 7.1 mph and an 8.4-foot hinge pin height, the RT-40 provides compact performance with useful reach and productivity.

ASV Posi-Track® Undercarriage

The RT-40 features ASV’s Posi-Track® undercarriage technology, designed to provide traction, flotation, and a smooth operating experience across a wide range of ground conditions. Its 11-inch tracks, 55-inch length of track on the ground, and 1,210 square inches of ground contact area help the machine achieve low ground pressure while maintaining stability and control.

Operator Comfort and Visibility

The RT-40 is designed with operator comfort, safety, and visibility in mind. The seated cab helps reduce fatigue compared to standing all day on a walk-behind or stand-on loader, while providing protection from the elements. The operator station is designed to provide ample headroom, a clean and comfortable environment, and large windows for strong visibility around the machine.

Serviceability

The RT-40 is built for easy service access to help reduce downtime. A large rear-tilting hood provides access to maintenance points, including filters, oil and fuel tanks, reservoirs, hydraulic and water separator drains, and the battery. Service-friendly cab features include an in-cab fuse panel and a removable seat secured with two bolts for easier access.

Controls and Display

The RT-40 uses pilot hydraulic joystick controls for smooth, intuitive operation. The right-hand joystick controls loader lift, tilt, and intermittent auxiliary hydraulics, while the left-hand joystick controls machine speed and direction. A hand-operated rotary throttle manages engine speed, and the 4.3-inch multi-functional color display shows engine RPM, engine coolant temperature, engine oil pressure, hydraulic oil temperature, battery voltage, hour meter, fuel level, trip meter, engine diagnostics, system monitoring, fault logging, and more.

Best-Fit Applications

The ASV RT-40 is well suited for users who need compact track loader performance in a small, maneuverable machine. Common applications include:
  • Landscaping
  • Residential construction
  • Light construction
  • Site preparation
  • Material handling
  • Grading and leveling
  • Digging and pushing
  • Rental fleets
  • Homeowner and acreage work
  • Tight-access jobsites
  • Soft or sensitive ground conditions
  • Work where a walk-behind or stand-on loader may not provide enough capability

Specification Note

Some features shown may not be included in the base configuration. Specifications are intended for comparison and planning purposes and may vary depending on machine configuration, operating conditions, manufacturing updates, and other factors.
